Description

This is a view of the area between Schiller at the top left of the image and Bailly in the center below. Bailly sinks into the dark on the horizon. In between are the craters Zucchius and Bettinus, each with a central mountain range and Kircher.

From Schiller you can only see the right or defacto the south-eastern half in this picture. The elongated oval shape of the impact crater is easily recognizable on the moon. Even if you might think that this is a grazing shot, Schiller is only the fusion of several individual craters

This picture was taken during mediocre seeing with the 2.5xBarlow and the resulting focal length of 5080mm. Again it shows that without my Barlow I could have achieved a better result with a croped image. Even with a stack of 900 frames out of 5000 frames, I struggled to produce a reasonably good result. The other recording data: Frame rate = 66 fps with a gain of 256 and an exposure time of 6.6ms.
