Description

The northeast region of the ~6 day old Moon with craters Aristotles and Eudoxus featured along the terminator and Mare Frigoris to their eat in this long focal length image of the waxing crescent moon (35% illuminated) on the evening of July 15, 2021 (July 16th in UTC).

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader 685nm IR pass filter, and ZWO ASI174MM. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/20 (~0.18 arcsec/pixel). Image capture using Firecapture with gain set at 250 and an exposure of 30 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 25% of 1000 frames). Mosaic generated from 14 panels using Microsoft Image Explorer. Wavelet sharpening and histogram adjustment in Registax6.  Didn't include noise reduction and sharpening in Topax Denoise AI this time, even at low settings it produced some artifacts due to over sharpening.
