Description

M33 Lies 2.5 million light years away. It is located in the constellation Triangulum, hence it's name. It contains one of the largest HII regions known ( NGC 604).
I captured this at the end of my dark site imaging session. It is only one hour of integration, but it was high overhead and visible to the naked eye! I couldn't resist. There was still a slight haze from the west coast fires.

Description: I wanted to show a bit more blue colors in the outer arms, showing the cooler temperature outside the hotter core. Also I thought the original's stars were a bit too muted.

E

Description: Added another hour from my dark site. It really helped with the outer arms!

F

Description: Less pink, made the outer arms just a tad bit more blue. Thanks for your suggestion Rodd.

Description: I thought Version H was a bit too harsh. So I blended H with G using Pixel Math (version G .70*+ version H .30*). I am done with this image. Time to move on!
