Description

Continuing the collection of the van den Berg  - Herbst objects, in the southern hemisphere, we have here one of the very few, that are identified as emission nebula, only two of them are of such kind for this hemisphere, according to their paper. The one I refer to is the vdBH25a or RCW34, the small reddish nebula near the upper part of the centre of the image. Of course there are two other eye catching objects, the beautiful RCW36 and, just in front of it, a little bit of the large supernova remnant in Vela.
Another object in the image, below to the right of RCW36 is the reflection nebula BREN 207,
