Description

A smaller galaxy (70K light years diameter) in the Sculptor group with an obvious void.   NGC 247 is thought to be about 11 million light years away.   The small chain of galaxies in the image are Burbidge's Chain, about 300 million light years distant.  Two of those galaxies are interacting, with a faint streamer of material between them (barely visible to imaginary in this image).
