Description

My cheap Baddar Ha filter could not handle the Immense Gamma Cas and it shot horrible reflections all over the image. I got disheartened, stopped collecting data and called the image off as a failed image. That is until I saw a great Video by Adam Block where he demonstrated a magical clever way around neutralizing reflections. The problem was solved, and I started processing. I wish I could have collected more material, but I think I like this result with the little I got. The blue subgiant Gamma Cas is so immense that it is affecting IC 59 and 63 although the nebula lays light years away from the star.It rotates 1.6 million kilometers per hour, more than 200 times than the Sun, but it's also 19 times bigger and releases 34,000 more energy. The fast rotation causes eruptions of mass from the star into a surrounding disk, and that was my main focus in the image. I spent hours trying to achieve suitable illumination according to the star properties mentioned.
