Description

This has been a comedy of errors in collecting data. I started on it last month and got excited to image Jupiter one night (with no idea on software, capture, processing), which was a disaster in itself (didn't even have a finder scope and was pressing the keypad left right top bottom until midnight). Anis and few local AP friends helped me a lot. That needs a story on itself, but I will not share that pic here, haha.

So, after my 'magical' Jupiter shot , I put back the DSO imaging train and shot LRGB flats and SHO and forgot to change the readout mode, gain in Nina and went on with imaging. This was my parking target while I worked on getting data on Polar ring galaxy. And with this target being so high, my mount did not track that great. I need to see if there is any way I can improve on guiding when the target is close to meridian.

Another night, I decided to do a moon shot with my DSLR, which turned out okay for the first attempt with my Edge and next day, new flats and finished at SHO at the end and did not put back the gain to High Gain mode, which is what I use for LRGB.

Finally added some more last night and when I went to stack, to my horror I saw the LRGB subs with Gain 31 (my gain setting for SHO). I was not going to shoot new masters for just, so took a chance and calibrated with a mish mash of masters I already had step by step.

Took it through processing and I'm actually surprised it came out decent enough. I was going to add more data, but the weather next week does not seem that great so decided to 'set it free'.

Hope you like this result. Clear skies!
