Description

The Sombrero Galaxy is known as M104, Messier 104 or NGC 4594 is one of the largest galaxies of the Virgo Galaxy Cluster and is also host to a supermassive black hole. At 28 million light-years away, it is too distant to image in any detail with a wide-field lens with a WilliamOptics Zenithstar 61 f/5.9.

Only managed 11x60-second light frames before the batteries in the mount ran out. No darks, flats or bias.⠀Polar alignment was done through the polar scope. Focusing and framing were done with the Canon 700D.

Stacked and post-processed in Pixinsight (trial version). The final image is heavily cropped.
