Description

M42 is such a well hit target, there’s a couple of reasons for that

Firstly it’s bright, so it’s a great first target for beginners as it’s easy to capture light from and easy to find

Secondly, it’s insanely beautiful and that’s what keeps us coming back to it again and again

This my effort from Wednesday night and although I got a lot less data than I’d hoped I couldn’t be more pleased with the result

I’ve yet to collect any calibration frames yet but will get them for a 2nd process of this

21x180s with no calibration stacked in DSS, processed using PixInsight and Photoshop

Altair Astro 26C Gain 100, HCG Ultra, -15C

William Optics RedCat 51 v1.5 f/4.9

Deep Sky Dad AF3

iOptron CEM25P

Pegasus Pocket Powerbox

ZWO guidescope and ASI120MM-S guide cam

Imaged from Bortle 3 skies in Northumberland, UK. Images captured by NINA and guided by PHD2
