Description

This shows the dark nebula Barnard 175 with reflection nebula VdB 152 at it's head. Also above it planetary nebula Dengel-Hartl 5 and a fair amount of Ha floating about.

This is my first attempt to add Ha and OIII data to an RGB image. This using an OSC with NBZ filter for the narrowband data, so something of a compromise. My NB capture was cut short by cloud, so I was surprised to bring as much out with only 16 frames.

Before publishing, I realised I had only integrated 25 of 126 RGB frames, so the second version corrects this. I've lost a bit of contrast perhaps and stars are brighter, but I struggled to reduce or remove/re-add them without getting problematic artifacts. I've spent a long time on it, so will give it a rest now!  More data will help, so I may come back to it.

Description: Well, I realised before publishing this that I had only integrated 25 of 126 of the non-filtered subs! I've spent ages trying to process this, and this second revision is hopefully less noisy, but brighter and I've lost the contrast in Barnard 175 as well as some star colour (star reduction and/or removal and re-addition have not left me with pleasing stars, so I've gone with the bright version). I need a rest from it now, so may return and try again, particularly if I get some more data.

Description: Due to weeks of cloud here in Wales, I've had another go at this, with a slightly different crop. Also reducing star intensity by using the new StarXterminator process for Pixinsight. This has worked better for me than my previous attempts with Starnet, although I am left with some halos with the largest stars. Overall, though, I prefer this to having such bright stars across the frame.
