Description

Crazy night here in Kilpisjärvi, Finland. The night started with lots of faint red aurora arcs that evolved into a bright green full-sky show with some fast-moving nitrogen fringes (also known as the lower pinks). The auroras were so bright it actually lightened up the snow so significantly that its easier to walk in the dark. At times when instead of focusing on the auroras, I was running from spot-to-spot and when the snow got brighter it was a sign that I need to hurry up.

The good thing about pinks is that it looks very similar in photos as it does to your eye. The bad thing is that they moved at ridiculous speeds making it difficult to capture them in photos. The snow in the photo is quite green, but I have actually significantly reduced it as in the raw photos it was so green it looked very unrealistic.
