Description

IC 405 - NGC 1893/IC 410 - IC 417 - NGC 1912 in Auriga

J2000.0 RA 05h 16m 05s Dec +34° 27′ 49″

IC 405 (SH 2-229, Caldwell 31) is an emission/reflection nebula in Auriga at about 1,500 light-years known as the Flaming Star Nebula.

It surrounds the irregular variable star AE Aurigae and is located near the open clusters M38 and M36, and the K-class star Iota Aurigae.

This image shows a wider field view to Auriga Nebulae, IC 405 and 410. Also Sharpless 232 (Sh2-232), IC 417 and Messier 38 open cluster.

Composition of two images (FOV 4.3x2.9°) taken with Tair-3S 300mm f/4.5 + Canon Eos 4000D Total exposure: 2400 sec.
