      Description

As a new planetary nebula candidate, the team consisting of Dana Patchick - Sakib Rasool - Sankalp Mohan - Utkarsh Mishra discovered it by examining amateur astrophotographs who revealed a faint shell structure in the far corner and also using the DSS. I was contacted by the team to produce deeper images especially with narrow band filters in the hope of being able to bring out more its structure. As the images in particular in Oiii seemed to conclude with a very large structure and never detected at this level, we continued the acquisitions also in RGB in order to be able to generate the example that I am offering you at the moment. The nebula remains challenging to process being quite faint even after all these hours of acquisition time and the target was pretty low in the sky at the date we did it from my remote site in Chile. Hope you like this version!

I was very happy to have had the chance to participate in this new experience of collaboration and discovery. I invite you to visit Utkarsh's blog dedicated to this great discovery for more information.
