Description

After the Jones Emberson 1 planetary nebula hid behind the roof of the house, I had about 1 hour before the sun starts to show its light. The Iris Nebula was right in front of me and I used it as another test for my new RC8, for 1 hour.

Even with the nice CLS filter from Astronomik, used as a Luminance filter for my monochrome ASI183MM pro, it is not sufficient to get the nice details I obtained on my former shot of the Iris (11+ hours in total, in LRGB), with the 350 mm from TS Optics.

I used the chrominance of my previous shot with the 350mm to put colors on my little hours of CLS with the new RC8. Chrominance can be heavily undersampled if the luminance is good. Well, in this case, there were lots of noise in both of them (and I didn't even make the flats for le Luminance).

Anyway, it is fun to put those 3 shots of the same region in perspective : from Earth to the Iris (from 27mm FL to ~ 1100mm, with the reducer).
