Description

This target was a challenge.  I've been spoiled shooting narrowband, which mostly neutralizes the Bay Area's light pollution.  Broadband targets like galaxies aren't too bad, as they're typically fairly bright and you have a lot of background you can use to neutralize the light pollution.  Targets like this with a bunch of nebulosity everywhere makes it tricky to deal with the gradients.  I found PI's NormalizeScaleGradient helpful by adjusting the various subs to my best sub's gradient.  Even still, trying to bring out dark nebula structure is a real pain.  I think you need dark skies to really do these kinds of targets justice.  I wasn't having much luck bringing out the emission nebula to the right, so I finally broke down and grabbed some Ha to blend in.
