Description

This area is often imaged as it is quite near to Sadr but not so frequently depicted in detail. Barnard 347 is the dark cloud in the upper right part of the picture. Always amazing how this sharply cuts stars in the background. Would be interesting to do this with an IR filter but unfortunately the silicon based sensors give up above 1000 nm, we need a semi-conductor with a lower band gap like Ge.
This was a quite quick test shot of my Antlia 3 nm Ha and OIII filters, doing quite a good job. It needs more exposure time to reveal the complex structure of the nebulae.
