The Elephant's Trunk Nebula is a concentration of interstellar gas and dust within the much larger ionized gas region IC 1396 located in the constellation Cepheus about 2,400 light years away from Earth. The Elephant's Trunk Nebula is now thought to be a site of star formation, containing several very young (less than 100,000 yr) stars that were discovered in infrared images in 2003. I have simple goals, trying to improve my skills image after image and take care of many aspects:
- achieve a nice framing (I think the canon 200m was mandatory here)
- long integration time form my Bortle 8-9 location (here >20h)
- take good care of the color layer (Modern Hubble palette si very well suited to this object imho)
- prepare a good luminance layer
For this one I'm quite happy of the end result.
Let me know if you like it !
