Description

Abell 56 (PK 037-3.2) is a ring-shaped planetary nebula located in the constellation of Aquila. Discovered by George Abell on the 48-inch Samuel Oschin telescope at the Palomar Observatory on Palomar Mountain in California.

Little is known or written about this rarely photographed object. PN guru @Gary Imm has found a blue progenitor star in the center but not sure if it can be resolved in my image.

I shot this one in Hydrogen alpha and added the Oxygen III for star color. Processed as HOO in PixInsight.

Thanks, Eddie
