Description

NGC 4216 is a spiral galaxy in Virgo, and one of the brightest galaxies in the Virgo Cluster, in absolute terms. It lies around 55 million light years away. Apparent magnitude is 11 and size is 8.1 x 1.8 arc minutes. The galaxy at the upper right is NGC 4206, at mag 12.2 and the one at the lower left is NGC 4222, mag 12.9.

Date: Mar-April 2021

Location: New Ringgold PA

Optics/Camera: Starizon Hyperion 12.5 inch and Apogee Alta U8300 for half of the luminance

Optics/Camera: Celestron Edge HD 11 and ZWO ASI1600MM-Cool for color and half of the luminance

Mount: Paramount ME and Paramount MX

Exposure: LRGB: L:87x10 R:20x8 min, G:23x8 min, B:21x8 min for a total of 23 hrs (151 subs at avg of 549 sec)

Processing: Image acquisition using CCD Autopilot. Initial processing was done using Maxim DL with subsequent processing using Photoshop.
