Description

This image shows the emission nebula Sh2-115 (also known as LBN 357) and  the planetary nebula Sh2-116 (also known as DWB 118 and  Abell 71).  This image field is in the Cygnus -X region which is the area of the DWB catalog. This image contains ten objects of the DWB catalog. This image field also contains four LBN objects (the afore mentioned LBN 377, LBN 352, 358, and 362). The open cluster Berkeley 90 is also in this image field. One of the members of Berkeley 90 (TYC 3573-1489-1) is the ionizing star of Sh2-115 - it is estimated to be about 9630 light years distant (by paralax). So Sh2-115 is in this range for distance.  These objects and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated image.
