Description

Messier 81 & Messier 82. 
M81 also known as NGC 3077 & M82 also known as NGC 2976.  M81 & M82  is around 12 million light-years from the sun. M81 has a diameter of around 90,000 light years. M81 & M82 is in the constellation Ursa Major. The Distance from Earth is around 11.5 million light years. The pair have been locked in gravitational combat for a billion years. M81 is on the left  M82 is on the right. M81 is a spiral galaxy. M82 is a starburst galaxy. They are two magnificent neighboring galaxies that are almost always photographed as a pair. M82 starburst or The Cigar Galaxy is one of our favorite galaxies, the core is 100+ times brighter than the one in our Milky Way. M81 M82 are separated by around 150,000 light years.
