Description

IC4592 Blue Horse Nebula

The Blue Horse Nebula is a reflection nebula located about 400 light-years from Earth. Stretching about 20 light-years in length, it is part of the larger Rho Ophiuchi complex of reflection and emission nebula. IC4592 consists mostly of dust particles and is illuminated by bright star Nu Scorpii, seen at the center-left as the horse's eye. Part of another reflection nebula, IC4601, surrounds the bright star at the top-right corner. North is at the bottom.
