Description

The moon is still young 5 days and 1 hour after the new moon, on July 25, 2020, at 21.25 at 16° above the southwestern horizon. Poor visibility conditions.

I call this phase of the moon nectarine. The Sea of Nectar and Theophilus, Cyrillus and Catharina satisfy my appetite for aesthetics. In addition, the interestingly carved Sinus Asperitatis north of the TCC and the bright smudge of Rupes Altaii and a part of the honeycomb to the south do not let your eyes rest from the splendor. The structure of Janssen and Vallis Rheita look great, the southern end of the sickle with the Bussingault crater is also charming. Langrenus, Petavius and Humboldt are still clearly visible, the lightened Mare Crisium and the eastern seas are also beautiful. Accents in the North: Posidonius, Burg, Hercules, Atlas and Endymion draw attention to each other.
