Description

Hello star friends,

I ventured into Outters 4, also known as Ou4.
This was the third attempt in the last two years and I was able to make something visible in 2 nights.

It has now worked with the Astronomik OIII clip filter 12nm. There was a lot of scrap on the OIII images. Of the 153 OIII images, only 78 were usable. On the one hand I had to struggle with the low level on the northern horizon, as well as with the later rising moon (93% illumination). It wasn't easy to make the delicate structures a little more visible. Ou4 looks a bit washed out and does not yet show a clear structure on my recording. I will probably have to collect more data for a better representation. The data has been processed into a bicolor.

The large PN, Outters 4 (Ou4) in Sh2-129 was only discovered in June 2011 by French amateur astronomer Nicolas Outters. Ou4 has the shape of a squid and is also called Squid Nebula. The nebula belongs to the constellation Cepheus. At a distance of about 2,300 light-years, its diameter is estimated at 50 light-years. Ou4 glows in the OIII spectrum. Further investigation revealed that Ou4 is due to the blue star's (HR8119) bipolar outflow.

Thanks for watching and stay healthy!
