Description

Here is two photos of M51 (the Whirlpool Galaxy). First one is just quick attempt from Carpathian trip - LRGB (10 min each filter) - the first night near house ( huge humidity was there). Second it was first light of my travel scope from Holodniy yar near Kropivnitskiy - one shoot 120”. I try to compare two cameras result especial from start size perspective. I have some feeling that asi1600 should give more details because of pixel size 3,8 against 4,29 on Canon. One respected man told me that atmosphere in Ukraine blurs details so it does not make sense try to go with smaller pixel size. Going to check this statement to make side by side compare at the same setup/same time/ same total exposure time - but it is task for future. Here is just first steps to learn new equipment and processing techniques.

First shoot:

Telescope: FRA400 72/400 quintuplet

Camera: ASI1600mm pro(-20)

Lights: LRGB 10x30” for each channel ( 5min total exposure)

Darks - 10x30”

Second shoot:

Telescope: FRA400 72/400 quintuplet

Camera: Canon 60Da

Lights: 1x120”

Darks - 0
