Description

I've not been able to image for a while due to an accident with my equipment. About four weeks ago it looked like I was going to have a clear night but there would be a Moon up. I decided to image NGC 891 because of where it would be located in the sky in relation to the Moon. My mount was set up for my Astro Tech AT60ED. I decided to image with my Astro Tech AT6RC Ritchey-Chretien scope. Just before going outside I attached my guide scope and my camera to my AT6RC scope. I was in my dining room next to my back door. I added another counter weight to the mount and I balanced the scope on the mount. I then decided to move the scope around on the mount with my hand controller. I wanted to check the tension on the worm gears to see if it needed to be adjusted since I was using a much heavier scope. While I was moving the scope for some reason it came loose from the clamps on my mount and fell to my kitchen floor. The fall from my mount to my tile kitchen floor ruined my AT6RC scope and destroyed my dslr camera. I really loved my D5300 camera and I'm going to miss it. For a bunch of different reasons, one being that Nikon no longer makes the D5300, I decided to replace the D5300 with Nikon D5600. This is the first light with my new Nikon D5600 camera.
