Description

This faint supernova remnant requires a lot of imaging time. I gathered almost 30 hours of useable data over many nights during Dec '23 and Feb '24.  Some nights had small clouds rolling in and out so I shortened my exposure times during those evenings because the clouds would present themselves often enough to ruin my ten-minute exposures. As a result, quite a few frames got rejected; otherwise I would have had over 30 hours. I'm generally pleased with what I was able to capture, but it definitely had its challenges. I also wasn't aware of PK 116 + 00.1, that u-shaped bright spot in the image.  I initially thought it was a weird artifact on my ha filter. Upon further investigation I learned it was once thought to be a distant planetary nebula, but it’s more likely to be a region of ionized hydrogen (HII), which I believe, because it’s only present in my ha images and doesn’t show up at all in my oiii master image which has 13 hours of integration.
