Description

M 7 - The Ptolemy Cluster. Also called NGC 6475. This is a naked eye object in the constellation of Scorpius. I have looked at this cluster off and on since i was a kid. Visually, it is a fairly bland sort of object. However, I thought i'd image it to better appreciate the cluster in all its glory as it sits in contrast against the huge concentration of stars and dust lanes behind it. Hope you enjoy it as much as i. Better still - go out and see it for yourself if you can.
