Title: Messier, NGC, IC and PGC counted

Triggered by comments from friends here on AB, I though I give this image a deeper analysis. I let PI plate solve and annotate the original image (see above). Of course, PI doesn't check if an object is visible. So, the image also annotates objects which cannot be seen on my image (15045 in total).
However, as PI provides a txt-File with object coordinates for this annotation, I checked the provided pixels it they have sufficient intensity (I >= 50/255). If so, I've counted the object as visible.
Given this procedure and some uncertainty, it's save to say that this image shows 1000 objects which are either in Messier, NGC, IC or PGC.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection.
