Description

The Elephant's Trunk Nebula (IC 1396A - on the left) and the Flying Bat and Squid Nebulae (Sh2-129 and OU-4) on the right. Both nebulae lie about 2400 light years away in the constellation Cepheus.
This is an extremely wide field of view, about 12 full moons in diameter across the sky.
I shot this with my wide-field setup, using a Rokinon 135mm lens, ZWO ASI 294 MC Pro and STC Astro Duo Narrow band filter. All captured using the incredible ASIAIR Pro.
This represents about 8 hours over a few nights, merged with previous data shot last year to bring out the "squid".Ou-4 (The Squid Nebula) was discovered just 10 years ago and is EXTREMELY faint, being made up of oxygen. It is believed that OU-4 lies entirely within the Flying Bat Nebula. Due to it's faint nature, OU-4 required about 20 hours of data to bring out detail.
The image was calibrated and stacked in Astropixel Processor and processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop.
