Title: Overhauled M42

Description: A friend tipped me that Adam Block had updated his Fundamentals course with new videos describing the many new processing tools available for Pixinsight. It's been awhile since I took the course, so I checked it out. He made some major additions!

Adam worked with M42 data quite a bit and had an available image download to follow along with. I used my own M42 oldish data that I had from back in November of 2020.

This data was back from my beginning days of using Pixinsight (and using a dedicated astronomy camera).

My main goal of reprocessing was to get the hang of stretching with GHS. Adam did a wonderful job at describing the use of the GHS process (the best that I have seen yet), but in the end I used a modified STF and HistogramTransformation.

There are many issues with the stars, and the coloration might be a bit “Pepto Bismol” but I just left it because I like it.

Thanks for looking and comments welcome!

Jim
