Description

Sunspots of the 21st of August 2017. The top photo is my capture (color) and the bottom image is NASA photo (black and white) for comparative purposes. This is a single frame and was made on the day of the solar eclipse of the year 2017, captured in a public square with thousands of people around me as I was together with the local amateur astronomy group that I am part of (SAMA - Astronomy Society of Maranhão) ) together with Professor Oliveira from the local federal university (UFMA) and the Ilha Science Project and laboratory, which aims to popularize astronomy. It is very curious to know that our planet Earth fits entirely within one of these sunspots!
