Description

This bronze statue of Nicolas Copernicus is located in Warsaw, in front of the Staszic Palace, in the heart of the old town... She had a turbulent history, full of twists and turns, so I wanted to pay tribute here...

The Nicaulos Copernicusmonument was designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen. He decided to represent the Polish astronomer holding an armillary sphere with his left hand. This represents his conception of the solar system that he had to defend at the time, placing the sun at the center of it.
In his left hand is a compass, symbolizing the measurements and calculations that allowed him to demonstrate his theory.
Originally planned to be installed in Torun, the birthplace of Copernicus, it was finally installed in Warsaw from 1828 to 1830, due to the occupation of the region by Prussia.
During World War II, the Germans decided to melt it. They take it all the way to Nysa, but they must withdraw before they have been able to carry out their project. Saved in extremis from this tragic end, the statue was brought back to Warsaw by the Poles on July 22, 1945

This photograph is only my first test of star photography in the city centre, despite intense light pollution. I like this kind of challenge. For this test, I only took (by plane) light equipment. Despite the LED lighting, the result is encouraging, so I note the following improvements to get better results:
- Use UHC filter instead of CLS filter
- Increase the total exposure time more important, to mark the movement of stars.
- Work with a Full Format sensor to obtain a larger field
