Description

Narrow band image of NGC 2264 taken between 25th of December 2019 to 3rd January 2020 from Klagenfurt, Austria.

H alpha: 53 subs a 15 min = 795 min = 13.25 h (red)

OIII: 37 subs a 15 min = 555 min = 9.25 h (blue)

SII: 35 subs a 15 min = 525 min = 8.75 h (green)

Overall: 135 subs a 15 min = 1875 min = 31.25 h

The moon conditions were ideal and I had extremly luck with the weather conditions, as the location is well known for a lot of fog at that time of the year. As always I missed the focus on some days and for some reasons I had elongated stars only on SII subs. Although this is the deepest image I ever created, the image shows that there is more potential with more subs, especially at the fainter parts of the nebula but also via a more careful setup of the equipment. And indeed there might be more potential in the processing of the data (it is the first time I did not take flats and trusted DBE in PI for flatening the background, which worked out mostly).
