Description

The Elephant’s Trunk Nebula (IC1396) - A concentration of interstellar gas and dust within the much larger ionized gas region in the constellation Cepheus. It’s located about 2,400 light years away from Earth.

This is my first Hubble palette image I’ve tried to process. It’s a fake Hubble as I only had Ha and OIII data and generated an artificial SII. But in the end it turned out to be a fantastic photo!
It was kind of a test session - was shot in a full moon! Sky was glowing, I could only see the brightest stars and could see my own shadow in the middle of the night 😎

Impressed how good the l-extreme filter performed.
