Description

IC 5148 is known as The Spare-tyre Nebula and is a planetary nebula n the constellation of Grus. Around 3000 light-years distant, it is one of the fastest  expanding planetary nebulae.
At only a couple of arcminutes across it probably needs more aperture.
With a booming moon close by, it was narrow band or bust and I was lucky to get enough data to complete the image in the one half-good night we've had in weeks.
Being in Grus, there are quite a lot of faint galaxies lurking in the back ground which I quite enjoy.
