Description

My first open cluster and I think it is a beautiful cluster.  Caroline's Rose (NGC 7789) aka the White Rose was a major omission from Charles Messier' list.  It is estimated to be 8,000 light years away and 60 light year across. The brightest star are G & K class orange giants and highly evolved.  NGC 7789 is estimated to be 1.6 billion years old, which is very old for an open cluster, but far younger than any of the globular clusters.
