Description

The Triangulum Galaxy is a spiral galaxy 2.73 million light-years (ly) from Earth in the constellation Triangulum. The Triangulum Galaxy is the third-largest member of the Local Group of galaxies, behind the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy. It is shown in the sky relatively close to the Andromeda galaxy and is believed to be a satellite of it. It has a diameter of about 60,000 light-years and and about 40 billion stars.

North and West of the nucleous (up and right) we can see NGC 604 (the pinky patch),one of the largest HII regions known.
