Description

M 81discovered by Johann Elert Bode, along with M 82 in 1774, described it as a "nebulous patch", which "appears mostly round and has a dense nucleus in the middle." It was the second Galaxy my son and I first saw years ago with the our SE6.

After attempting to capture M81 for the past four years, this year on January 20 and 21 (21st day of the the 21st year of the 21st century) finally offered two clear nights after 2 months of cloud.
