Description

This spiral galaxy is located 75 million light years away in the constellation of Leo at a declination of +14 degrees. It is a magnitude 13 galaxy which spans 5 arc-minutes in our apparent view and which has a Milky Way like diameter of 105,000 light years. We are looking at it about 30 degrees from edge-on.

This galaxy has a small bright unbarred core and a flocculent inner region. Two grand design spiral arms take shape in the outer region. Star clusters are visible throughout the disk.

The bright blue star seen just to the right is 9th magnitude HD 92622.
