A professional would not have continued with the session after confirming the turbulent lunar surface in the video preview. Anyway, nothing better to do, so, let's practice and challenge a contest with clouds and keep exposure times as short as possible at high frame rates over 100fps. AS!3 had a hard job aligning and stacking and it did it wonderfully. However, when you zoom in you can see that the image is blurred by unsteady humid air. Not so the three-panel mosaic of the full disk taken at native FL=750mm, 138 fps and fast 0.9ms at gain 150 (25%).

The libration in longitude was about +7° clearly unveiling Mare Marginis and Mare Smythii at the eastern limb. All images, taken past meridian transit, are stacks of 600 from 6000, 1.5x drizzled, 8-bit raw color, exposure times below 10ms, gain 150 through an IR-cut filter. Images in the revision are taken with a 2x barlow at FL=1500mm. No noise issues whatsoever in spite of 37.4°C sensor temperature. Taken right after the moon, the planets (Mars 22.2" big) in the two-panel mosaic are inserted to scale. This is also the last lunar image of the session when the moon was at 36° elevation.

An unexpected rain shower removed all traces of the session ten minutes after the gear was dismantled and back into the boxes. A graceful retreat in honor.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status.
