Description

NGC 6951 is a barred Galaxy in a distance of 70 mio Lj. The visual size is 3,9 x 3,2 arcmin. This is a Seyfert typ galaxy with a active nucleus in the center. There is a supermassive black hole. Around the nucleus is a star forming ring with a diameter of 10 arcsec only (See the crop picture which show this ring). The galaxy has a long stallar bar with some dust lanes running across.

There is some interstellar dust (Flux) visible in that region of the sky as well.
