Description

Messier 76, also known as the Little Dumbell Nebula (and NGC 650 & NGC 651), is a planetary nebula located in the constellation Perseus. Discovered by French astronomer Pierre Mechain in 1780, it lies approximately 2,500 light years from Earth with a spatial diameter of 1.23 light years.
