Description

I call this Galaxy the Rodney Dangerfield Galaxy because it gets no respect. NGC 3945 is situated close to the northern celestial pole and, as such, it is visible for most  of the year from the northern hemisphere. So, you would think its visible enough for us northerners. Not even a page on Astrobin. Checked for Apod's - nothing. Checked for NASA images - couldn't find any. Regardless, this is a neat galaxy. NGC 3945 has a complex structure, with two concentric bars and a pseudobulge. Unlike similar galaxies NGC 3945 has a very small central black hole or possibly none at all. I admit, it doesn't show much detail but the center is interesting and you can see the outer ring.
