En attendant une météo plus clémente, j'ai complètement repris le traitement de cette image.

La nébuleuse de la patte de chat dans le ciel Austral, via l'ASA500 de Chilescope. Le tout capturé en 2019.

12x1200" en Ha

9x600" en SII et OIII.

Pour cette version, j'ai effectué des starless et des masques d'étoiles des images Ha, OIII et SII, puis les ai intégré séparément. J'ai ensuite intégrer étoiles et starless couleur dans Photoshop. Un léger "Topaz denoise" sur la starless (pour éviter de dégrader les étoiles) + quelques ajustements de niveaux et correction sélectives + léger filtre "passe haut" pour accentuer les détails. Rien de plus

12x1200 "in Ha

9x600 "in SII and OIII.

For this version, I made starless and star masks of the Ha, OIII and SII images, then integrated them separately. I then integrate stars and starless color in Photoshop. A slight "Topaz denoise" on the starless (to avoid degrading the stars) + some level adjustments and selective correction + slight "high pass" filter to accentuate details.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
