Description

Wolf-Rayet stars are characterized by having prominent broad emission lines of ionized helium and highly ionized nitrogen (WN type) or carbon (WC type). The two brightest WR stars in the northern hemisphere are WR 133 and WR 140, both at magnitudes around 6.8. In revision B is shown the spectrum of WR 133, which lies in the open cluster NGC 6871 in Cygnus.
