Description

I thought this galaxy was good target with its splendid edge-on display. Indeed it is, but there was a bonus: when I looked around at recent images online, there is a recent supernova in this galaxy - SN2021rhu. This was reported on 1st July 2021, and is now fading. I have stretched the image to make it more visible, and provided an annotation.
The name 'Little Sombrero' stems from similarity to its larger counterpart - the Sombrero galaxy M104. The diffraction lines on the stars just happen to line-up with galaxy's orientation giving a pleasing effect
