Description

I relish the opportunity to photograph multiple celestial objects in the same field of view. The owl nebula, designated M 97 in the Messier catalog, can be found a small angular distance from the galaxy M 108, and both are not far from the star Merak in the bowl of the big dipper. While I would not consider this a stand-out image, one thing I really enjoyed about processing it was finding numerous small galaxies in the background. I allowed the identification of PGC/UGC galaxies in the plate solve overlay to highlight some of these.
