Description

Image taken in September 2020, 20 minutes each colour but the Blue frames were taken a few nights later under a nearly full moon. When I came to process what should have been simple resulted in totally out of balance colours which try as I might could not be corrected even with PI's photometric colour calibration. fast forward to February 2021 and I decided to have another try and magically near perfect colour resulted first time! Don't ask me what the difference was but I'm pleased to have a finished image out of the data.

M71 lies around 12,000 light years away in the constellation Sagitta. Long thought to be an open cluster but more recent photometric measurements have classed it as a loosley packed globular cluster.
