Description

Located in Auriga SH2-224 is a very faint Ha region from an ancient super nova. When I first looked a subframe of the region I was taken by the beautiful starfield and the complete absence of a nebula which only emerged in Ha exposures. So I decided to try and focus on the star field and use the starless Ha data to enhance the oddly-shaped clouds of gas. The image is from 48x600s Ha subs about 50/50 binned and unbinned, 25x120s each RGB and 49x120S CLS luminance.

After making the RGB_H with pixelmath substitution of the starless Ha for red in the RED te luminance was deconvoluted and the RGB_HL made. This is a really fun but challenging region for my bright urban location.
